Wells County Social Services provides a wide range of services including both social services and economic assistance programs. Some services are provided directly by county employees and others are provided through contracts.
Administrative Structure:
Wells County Social Services is directly responsible to the Wells County Social Services Board. The Board consists of five members who are appointed by the Wells County Commissioners. The County Social Service Board meets monthly. The Board appoints the Director of Social Services.
Personnel:
Personnel include a county director, four social workers, four eligibility workers, an office assistant and three homemakers. Wells County Social Services participates in an inter-county model of sharing social service staff with Eddy and Foster Counties.
